IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE WRITER: Due to the reality & time-sensitive nature of this situation, below you will find the raw un-formatted, un-edited data. It is rather difficult to write a story and set up a website in one month's time; but if it helps gain attention on disaster-relief in the Philippines, that is the primary goal of the blog you are reading now. The logs below are being provided for those immediately affected by Typhoon Haiyan after Nov. 8th 2013, or anyone else affected by natural disaster seeking ideas:

To the rest of the readers, you may wait for the next installment of The Disaster Log to come out (revisit the homepage from time to time for updates; or refresh the page by pressing F5 on your keyboard)

Otherwise, feel free to check out the rest of the blog.

It is times like these that everyone can help the people of the Philippines simply by offering a few simple words of advice in the public message board below.

Thank you for your time.

DISCLAIMER: The views expressed in this blog are completely independent of the effort currently taking place in the Philippines. The Disaster Logbook is simply intended to offer insights and advice into natural disasters such as present-day Typhoon Haiyan. I am not a disaster-relief specialist, however, I still feel that by documenting my own perspective on the situation, those that find themselves affected by Typhoon Haiyan or similar situations may learn from what I have to offer.

NOTES/DISCLAIMERS (before reading the logbook below)

NOTE 1: My thoughts below may sound a little scattered
after seeing the devistation for the first time.
I'm still a little bit shook up from seeing the whole incident, but here's
the raw thought log as I saw the events unfold.

NOTE 2: Avoid spreading panic.  If anything, the following logbook may be used
as a record of ways to approach; and to not approach natural disasters like Typhoon Haiyan
Please remind yourself of this from time to time, as I do not want to spread more panic  myself. I am a human being too after all.  I make mistakes.

NOTE 3: Since I also like to do some creative writing in my free time, be aware that some
passeges of this may read more like a story than reality; but I should note
that everything mentioned here is happening right now as you read this;
With a little bit of creative writing flair every once in a while for effect.

NOTE 4: To avoid confusion, the following logbook is a ***SEMI-REALISTIC STORY***
My visa is expired; and I am NOT experienced in disaster relief, so I cannot help that way;
but for now, I think writing about the challenges the philippines will face can
help them in their time of need.

NOTE 5: Due to time restrictions, I'M WRITING THE STORY AS YOU READ IT. INCLUDING REVISIONS.
So, as you read, some parts may sound a bit disjointed, but if it can help get attention
on the situation in the Philippines, that is the primary goal.

-The typhoon hit on November 8th
-I started keeping this Logbook on November 11th
 -As it type this, it is November 25th

Letter from the Editor

----------

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR: Due to the reality & time-sensitive nature of this situation, below you will find the raw un-formatted, un-edited data.
